Catechesis
The teaching of religion is an integral part of the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph. We do this by working closely with parishes wherever we find ourselves in order to prepare children, youth and adults for Sacraments. We also accompany the faithful in their journey of faith by being available for consultation with regard to faith matters.
In fact, every Sister of St. Joseph is a Catechist called to spread the good news of the Kingdom of God. Wherever a Sister of St. Joseph finds herself - in the Convent, at School, in the hospital, on the streets and even in the Church, she strives to spread love and hope to all the people she comes into contact with.
Formation
Formation into religious life is an integral part of the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph. There are programs for both the initial formation and on going formation.
Girls interested to become Sisters of St. Joseph go through an initial formation of between three and 4 years before they are allowed to commit themselves to religious life as vowed members of the Sisters of St. Joseph. Ongoing formation programs target all vowed members of the Institute since spiritual renewal is an every day action for every member.
Sr. Teresia Waweru works closely with the formation team and vocation promoters to ensure this vital formation happens so as to give to society vibrant and all round religious women ready to take on the challenges of apostolate as they accompany the people of God in their daily lives in their quest for a spiritual meaning in their every aspect of life.
